Stewed steak and vegetable mid week pasties.
Comforting mid week dinner with buttery mash and greens or a great pack lunch and so easy to make.
2 packs of pre rolled puff pastry
2 tins of stewed beef
1 tin of new potatoes
1 tin of carrots
1 tin of peas
1 tin of sweetcorn
1 egg beaten
Pre heat the oven to 180°c
Grease and line a large baking tray.
Lay one sheet of pastry down on a floured worktop and cut into 4, brush the edges with the beaten egg.
In a large mixing bowl add the steak and all the veggies and mix well.
Now add spoonfuls of the mixture onto you 4 pieces of cut pastry leaving room around the edges. Cut the other sheet into 4 and lay each piece over your meat covered pastry pieces. Bring the two edges together and lightly push down so they stick, now using a fork crimp along all the edges so they are really well sealed.
Now put them onto your prepared baking tray and just pop the tip of your knife into the middle of each pasty so any steam can get out.
Bake for 40 minutes until golden brown.
